Saint Mary of the Snow's Church
Located in San Valentino square, this church is very old (it was here at least since the Early Middle Ages). It once was a little country church surrounded by the first settlement before it was fortified. The church was expanded and renovated during the XVI and XVII centuries.
The classical façade is quite plain. The interior, with a single nave, has its walls framed by arches; on the far side of the entrance stands a half-round apse. The last altar on the right stores a painted canvas portraying the Mother of Christ, behind a wooden panel decorated with a symbol related to the Virgin Mary. The apse’s half-dome is adorned with a painting from the XVII century: La Madonna della Neve e San Valentino (Madonna of the Snow and Saint Valentine), patron saints of Penna in Teverina.
